i don't know why the flag of the usa is a symbol for freedom these days...

show the world what happens in guantanamo, try to make a law with equal rights for everybody, try to treat the rest of the world with respect, then the star spangled banner can be a symbol for freedom.

Iraq is free, toward the end of the war with Iraq I saw images of many Iraqis waving American flags, thanking America for freeing them, etc. So now all the negative comments on this piece are baseless.

Comrade Vessel, you raised an excellent point, which you'll probably get warned for.

"Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in the ancient Greek republics: freedom for the slave-owners. Owing to the conditions of capitalist exploitation, the modern wage slaves are so crushed by want and poverty that "they cannot be bothered with democracy", "cannot be bothered with politics"; in the ordinary, peaceful course of events, the majority of the population is debarred from participation in public and political life...."
- Comrade V.I. Lenin "State and Revolution"

Funny how you supposedly support freedom but as soon as someone uses their freedom of expression you search for a way to get them banned. Oh yeah, American freedom... There are few things that are a bigger joke anymore than that phrase.
Seems the Iraqis have been coming out in marches 30,000 strong saying they don't much like American freedom because it feels strangely like a militery dictatoriship. Isn't it funny how we dispence American freedom like candy when it's in our best interests, too bad that candy is full of razorblades... don't we love the sight of blood? Keep up your pride, keep Goose-stepping to the beat of Bush's war drum.

You're still a joke. I'm a proud American, and I tried to get into your group, and you never replied to me. If being a proud American now means you have to blindly support whatever war or police action the government sends our troops into, then I guess I'm not very proud. Just because I exercise my DEMOCRATIC right to disagree doesn't mean I'm a traitor. Are you for democracy, or are you for America? That's the kind of choice you're leaving me when you affiliate being an American with being a mind slave.
